Alcohol and Substance Misuse

 

My name is Rebecca Meredith and I am GAVO’s Substance Misuse Media Officer working within the Caerphilly Borough and linking in closely with other substance misuse professionals throughout Gwent.

As a member of the Substance Misuse Action Team in Caerphilly, part of the Safer Caerphilly Community Safety Partnership, I am responsible for promoting local drug and alcohol services working within the area, making them more accessible to young people, to adults and to families living with substance misuse. 

A great part of my work involves making connections between different organisations that may be able to assist each other on this issue and also creating campaign material and free resources to reduce harm to people who are engaging in substance misuse or may be at risk of doing so in the future.
