Parent Network - Newport

The role of the Parent Participation Officer  is to help engage and involve parents and carers with children of all ages in Newport. It aims to encourage them to participate in decision making at all levels, and encourages them to have their say on parenting issues, locally and nationally.

As a result of this role a Parent Network has been established for Newport. This provides all parents and carers with a forum to voice their views and opinions regarding services they use in their everyday lives. Parents act as representatives on various steering groups and forums in Newport and feedback to the Parent Network.

The Parent Involvement Officer works closely and in partnership with local statutory and voluntary organisations, in order to ensure that information is communicated effectively from them to parents in Newport. Working in this way also enables parents to become engaged and involved in decision making right from the start.
