Caerphilly Play

To support and promote free play opportunities for children and young people throughout Caerphilly County Borough.

 

Play Development To increase awareness of the value of play and to promote the provision of play opportunities for children and young people throughout the Borough.


Adventure Play Project Adventure Play sites are on open outdoor space, and offer various play experiences and opportunities for children and young people aged 8-14 years old, currently within the New Tredegar area.

Creative Play Project Creative Play in partnership with Homestart facilitate the PEEP parent and toddler groups in all the Flying Start areas of Caerphilly. All parents and carers are welcome to attend and engage through play and creativity.
Offers free play sessions, advice and informal training to out of school groups and clubs with children aged 0-11.

Inclusive Play Project Reduces the barriers faced by disabled children and young people when accessing play provisions in Caerphilly County Borough by providing support to families, children & young people and play settings.

Holiday Scheme Co-ordinator - Catherine Davies The Holiday Scheme Co-ordinator works with those who provide activities for children and young people throughout the holiday periods, whether this is play or youth opportunities. Assistance and advice can be given on the following;

  • Training requirements
  • Policies and procedures
  • Providing quality play opportunities
  • Providing quality youth opportunities
  • Self assessments
  • Advertising
  • Staffing and recruitment
  • Participation and consultation
  • Resources
  • Funding

Practitioners Network - Practitioners Events have been organised to establish a practitioner's network to provide a forum for; problem solving, information sharing, exchanging new ideas, partnership working, promoting quality holiday provisions and supporting all providers.

Cymorth Commissioning Play Project - The fund will enable the Holiday Scheme Steering Group to further develop or improve projects that are new or currently existing and providing play opportunities for children and young people. The Holiday Steering Group will be commissioning organisations to offer quality play opportunities.

An expression of interest can be made by completing a Holiday Scheme 2010 Engagement Form. The fund is available until March 2011.
